Terms of Service Agreement
Effective Date: June 4, 2025
Parties: CareCompanion ("Service Provider") and the pet owner ("Client")
1. Service Agreement
1.1 Services include: Overnight pet care, daytime visits, house sitting, senior pet care, and add-on services as selected during booking.
1.2 Client agrees to provide accurate pet medical/behavioral history using our Pet Profile Form.
2. Payment Terms
2.1 Full payment required 48 hours before service commencement.
2.2 Holiday bookings require 50% non-refundable deposit.
2.3 Late payments incur 1.5% monthly interest.
3. Cancellation Policy
3.1 >72 hours notice: Full refund
3.2 48-72 hours notice: 50% refund
3.3 <48 hours notice: No refund
3.4 Holiday cancellations forfeit deposit
4. Pet Health & Safety
4.1 Client warrants pets are vaccinated and free of zoonotic diseases.
4.2 Aggressive pets require muzzle/bite history disclosure.
4.3 Service Provider may refuse service to pets showing dangerous behaviors.
5. Liability Limitations
5.1 Maximum liability for property damage: $500 per incident.
5.2 Maximum liability for pet injury: 6x service fee.
5.3 Not liable for:
- Injuries from undisclosed aggressive behaviors
- Pre-existing medical conditions
- Acts of nature (storms, natural disasters)
- Third-party contractors (vets, groomers)
6. Emergency Protocols
6.1 Client authorizes veterinary treatment up to $1,000 per incident.
6.2 Emergency contacts must respond within 30 minutes.
6.3 After-hours emergency fee: $75/hour.
7. Home Access & Security
7.1 Client provides two access methods (keys + garage code/app).
7.2 Security system must be disabled during service hours.
7.3 Service Provider not liable for:
- Faulty locks/latches
- Pre-existing property damage
- Acts of third parties during service
8. Insurance & Bonding
8.1 Service Provider maintains:
- $2M general liability insurance
- Caregiver bonding
- Worker's compensation
8.2 Certificates available upon written request.
9. Media Release
9.1 Client grants rights for service-related photos/videos to be used for:
- Service documentation
- Marketing materials
- Social media
9.2 Opt-out available via written notice.
10. Governing Law
10.1 This agreement is governed by laws of [Your State].
10.2 Disputes resolved through binding arbitration in [County], [State].
10.3 Client waives right to class action lawsuits.
Acceptance of Terms
By booking services, Client:
- Certifies accuracy of pet information
- Accepts all liability limitations
- Authorizes emergency medical care
- Agrees to arbitration for disputes
This agreement remains effective for all future bookings unless amended in writing.
